Body sculpting

Keeping up with the Kardashians has never been easier thanks to this new device from CynoSure, the SculpSure. Even with a clean diet and regular exercise it's hard to get those last few inches off sometimes and that's where noninvasive body sculpting comes to the rescue! Just a few visits of twenty-five minutes each and you can finally ditch those love handles you've been holding onto for years.

How does it work?

Ever heard of adipose tissue? Probably not, but most of us are very familiar with this fatty tissue. Its job is to store energy in the form of fat and for most of us it does a darn good job! The SculpSure emits an infrared light to heat stubborn fat cells until they're destroyed- for good! Just one twenty-five minute treatment will leave lasting effects forever.

MR4 laser

Lasers have revolutionized the medical world and are only becoming more advanced and effective with time. We're excited to offer our patients access to the MR4 Laser for pelvic floor pain and soft tissue injuries.

Pain relief

The super pulsed MR4 laser from Multiradiance utilizes continuous wave pulsing to alleviate pain where other treatments have been unsuccessful. This laser anticipates the body's ability to adapt to the treatment, making every session with the MR4 as effective as possible.

Wattbike

Cycling holds a special place in our office and we are always excited to work with professional and amateur cyclists. Both of our New York physical therapy locations in Westchester and Lincoln Square have Wattbikes, developed in association with British Cycling and used by World and Olympic Champions, the Wattbike is the first factory calibrated indoor bike to deliver accurate, consistent performance data and technical feedback.

What does this mean for you? With this technology and our expertise, we bring two high-end technologies together to offer the most comprehensive and advanced bike fittings available.  The British-Cycling team’s Wattbike with digital power and equal limb pressure feedback is used in conjunction with our 3D motion sensors and video analysis to find the perfect adjustments for your next ride or race. Don't lose time guessing on the perfect seat or handlebar placement as you switch bikes, come to us and we'll leave the guesswork behind, giving you the perfect setting on your first try and in time for your next race.

Sloane Stecker Physical Therapy New York Running Analysis

New Yorkers take their running seriously and so do we. Whether you're wanting to stay pain free for your daily morning run around the reservoir or you're gearing up for your next Iron Man, we've got just the thing for you.

Since 2012, we have utilized high-end measurement and training devices including surface electromyography, gait analysis with pressure virtual feedback, and 3D motion analysis.  You will experience a unique approach to a fully equipped analysis and therapy concept for evidence-based clinical and research applications.  Gait and Running analysis is a powerful tool in understanding your natural movement patterns and how a particular injury might be affecting your function.

The reports generated by these technologies help our staff make recommendations, measure recovery time, improve biomechanics and reduce the risk of sports and other types of related injuries. The analysis also helps you see how a consistent heel strike might be killing your marathon PR, but don't worry, we have a plan to work on your technique and shave off valuable seconds.

Reverse every natural instinct and do the opposite of what you are inclined to do, and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing.
— Ben Hogan

Running and Cycling aren't our only sports passions. We also take our knowledge of human movement and apply it to the biomechanics of a golf swing.  A 3D functional analysis and golf-specific training is ideal for golfers of any skill level who want to improve their performance, play without pain, and reduce their risk of injury.

Using surface electrodes (surface electromyography) the staff will study muscle activity at various stages of the golf swing while using video analysis and 3D motion sensors to analyze the flexibility, joint restrictions and postural faults.

We will design a comprehensive treatment program to make corrections that are affecting the golf swing: stretching, restoring joint motion, muscular reeducation, core strengthening and aerobic conditioning. Your only job is to spend as much time on the course as possible, perfecting the techniques we've given you.

The AlterG

Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square, a premiere physical therapy clinic in Manhattan's Upper West Side, is one of the few therapy clinics to offer patients and athletes use of the incomparable AlterG treadmill.

The AlterG

Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square, a premiere physical therapy clinic in Manhattan's Upper West Side, is one of the few therapy clinics to offer patients and athletes use of the incomparable AlterG treadmill.

Whether you're post-surgical, looking at a long recovery from your recent hip replacement surgery, or you're an athlete nursing an injury who wants to stay on your training schedule--the AlterG treadmill is the boost you need to heal or catch your training edge.

The AlterG is guaranteed to get you walking with a normalized gait immediately after your TKR or will just help you get your step back after a stroke. We utilize the AlterG with most of our physical therapy patients who are in need of greater mobility, balance, and strength.

BUT!, you don't have to be a patient to use our AlterG at either our Westchester or Lincoln Square offices! You know how you have that drawer full of expensive compression socks and leggings? Maybe they're even the only things you count on to help you recover from the long runs on your marathon training schedule. We're not saying that compression isn't a soothing and powerful aid to your recovery plan, we're just saying maybe you don't need to struggle into a tight pair of pants to get it.

Utilize the compression built around your lower limbs in The AlterG on your recovery days and you can toss those socks and tights out the window. Top the saving powers of compression with the ability to run at a fraction of your body weight and you've got the most productive "off" day on your training schedule to date.

Maybe we haven't won you over with the compression argument, but there's no way you can turn down running in a chamber that reduces the gravitational pull of your body towards earth. This is the future. Happening now, in UWS physical therapy clinics. (Really, if you think about it (but not too hard)...it's basically the closest most of us will ever get to walking on the moon...)

Just give us a call and we can book you in for a run that will be out of this world!
