The main key to success is consistency. Seventeen days into the new year and how are those resolutions going? Hopefully you're still hitting those resolutions with grit and resolve, but if you can feel yourself starting to falter, here are some tips for you.
- Find an accountability buddy. Having someone who you check-in with on your goals can make a big difference in whether or not you stick with it.
- Forgive yourself. Don't throw your goals out the window just because you miss the mark or falter here and there. You're a New Yorker. Just "forget about it," and keep on working towards meeting your goals.
- 30 days. Remember, it takes thirty days to make and break a habit. You're doing some intense work and creating new neural pathways when you make the resolution to create new, healthier habits. Stay mindful and not moments where you are triggered into old behavior patterns. By taking notice you'll slowly start to change your behaviors until they're in line with your resolutions.
Slow and steady wins the race. Your best bet at achieving your goals is to give yourself lots of time to also change your behaviors. Consistency is the key to success.
