Physical Therapy: Don't Put off Until Tomorrow What You Should Do Today

No one likes going to see the doctor, whether that doctor is the dentist, general practitioner, or even a physical therapist. Even though everyone knows preventative care is always a better option than fixing something once it is broken, there's still a reluctance to take a chance and go see the doc before things get really bad. What if regular trips to your favorite physical therapist could save you from a costly (both in time and money...) surgery later on down the line? Perhaps then you'd be more likely to call in and schedule your appointment sooner rather than later.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Symptoms 101

Pelvic floor pain can often manifest as referring pain, making it difficult to tell if the issue is with your pelvic muscles at all. For women the more obvious symptoms of pelvic pain syndrome might range from pain during sexual intercourse, rectal pain, leakage, incontinence, or constipation. Men might consider pelvic floor disorders if they experience consistent erectile dysfunction, testicular pain, bowel/bladder malfunction, or issues of the prostate. However, since pelvic floor pain can manifest as referring pain it is also important to pay attention to radiating low back, thigh, abdominal, and pelvic pain as this might be occurring due to issues with the pelvic floor.
